Brunch: Longsilog

Filipinos traditionally eat three main meals a day - almusal (breakfast), tanghalian (lunch), and hapunan (dinner) plus an afternoon snack called (merienda). Basically Filipinos love food and eating! [Right Demi?] And believe me every meal there should be rice. A meal with no rice is no meal with the Filipinos! (They even eat rice during midnight snacks no! Hehehehe… Now isn’t that a hard core?)

Yesterday I decided to cook my last brunch in DC and it is lonsilog (longanisa, fried eggs and fried rice with a side of green beans and mayo) Nothing special! I just miss eating this very traditional Filipino breakfast! (It’s been awhile since my body had a dose of MSG no!)

herb chicken limone

Serve with pita bread and potato salad. (Am sorry if I haven’t been really active these past few days, I am just busy!)

Penang!

(Friday) I feel so stressed out (personal matter that is…) So I decided to go out with Doreen (You know Doreen?) If you don’t, know check out diwatangbyaning.com - - - We went to the mall and I have spent a gazzilion and bazzilions of $$$ uhg… I am not stressed out anymore with my “personal matter” (WHEEEEEE - Happy ever after?), I am now stressing out with my credit card statement for next month lols. [So tomorrow I am going to the mall again! And return all these stuffs... lolsssss]

It’s been awhile since I last went to the mall uhg… In fairness the mall (the nicest/biggest mall in my work area) is under renovation, it’s just a shame that they have renovated the food court first and it is closed for sometime now *hearsay* Now we have to go out of the mall and find something to eat - darn it!

Since the mall is on Rt 38 we decided to eat at Penang. [Malaysian and Thai Restaurant]

Cravings: Carbonara

For the longest time I have been craving for Carbonara (Spaghetti). It’s been quite a long time since I last time I have it on my big mouth… Yeah, like months ago from Tovola De Ameci (Circle of Friends) - and the thing is it’s not good at all!!! The pasta is overcooked and it’s overflowing itself in oil (I hope it’s extra virgin no!) Not some piso-pisong takal-takal mantika from aling Osang’s sari-sari store na nakalagay pa sa bote ng tanduay uhg.

*Puts on my white jacket and toque* Are you guys ready for some action?
