Middle Easrtern Food: Norma’s
Little you guys did know, Iyoung is a huge fan of Middle Eastern food! Why? Tinatanong pa ba yon? It delicious it’s healthy wahahaha kelan pa ako naging health freak? Well it is much healthier compared than Pinoy food na sobrang greasy at kung anik-anik taktak-tak right?
Over time in the Middle East there have been political conflicts between the Jews and the Palestinians over land [Arab-Israeli conflict], but did you guys also know that they’re also fighting for food? Since Israel claimed that Falafel is their national snack. OMG FCOL these conflicts have been around ages noh ano ba and we all know that. Falafel can be an Israeli food or Arab food - I don’t know and I don’t care, Falafel has been there for ages and all I care about is how delicious it is made by one of my neighboring Middle Eastern restaurant run by Palestinian chefs originally from Israel.
Akkkkk enough of the politics! Yesterday afternoon we - I and America’s Top Monay had a lunch date at Norma’s Mediterranean restaurant
(You see whenever I am craving for good Mediterranean food, I go to Norma’s. Their not too pricey. They’re food is good and it really gives me multi-orgasm sa sarap oh my gravey!!! Plus the server is si PAPA as in papable? Ekkk no it’s PAPAhadah lols.) Plus at some nights they have belly dancers dancing in the tune of Arabian nights wowoweeee. Lebanese Blond anyone?
BTW Monay was my winner sa aking secret contest… And knowing na she/he lived in the Middle east, Saudi to be exact noong panahon (Gurl, naka-borka ka ba noon? Mata lang kita? Parang holdaper? Hehehe.) I decided to take him sa Norma’s baka kako namimiss na nya ang food nila doon noon… It was a lunch to be remembered kos we ate like French women do. Aba lunch lang ha 3 oras kami inabot ewan ko ba, hehehe talagang nilasap namin to the bones mabuti yong
Pita bread at Hummus for apps. With of course some interesting conversation and wine. We talked about food hahaha hindi kami patay gutom! We just love food and cooking na ina mo. You know just advices, trick and tips about cooking ng ina mo at baking ng ina mo na din, cause you know Monay is the cake maker sa Butsi Gang.
For entree I had Shawarma combination. It was good. It’s just I was expecting it to be a little dryer ba yong walang sauce, but it was all good.
And Monay had Moroccan Chicken with Pilaf rice and this menu comes with either a soup or salad of your choice.
We even exchanged plates ekkkk there’s no double dipping both dishes has a serving spoon or should I say fork hahaha… I love that garlic sauce and green chili sauce yum, simply compliments the Shawarma.
It’s time for some dessert! That’s papahada ekkkk papa haddad pala ang pangalan nya lol. *Am I selling or not?*
There’s Baklava and something something Basbousa/Ma’amoul we got Honey cake dahil sabi ni Fayed eh masarap daw yon.
And to complement this sweet thing?
Turkish coffee! It’s sweet and kinda bitter at lasang ifis at the same time! [May aftertaste, similar to ifis lol.] But in all honesty? The food at Norma’s is good in a sense of hmmm it’s authenticity. The best in the area I must say.
Don’t you dare! Ikaw ang taya sa Book-Binders o kaya Morimoto hehehe…
There’s nothing I could ask for more, the food is 4 stars for the price of 2 stars! Going to Norma’s sure did satisfy my craving!
This is the back section for the store where you can buy Middle Eastern foods that you can’t find at your local grocery store. They have dates, Turkish coffee, cous-cous, assorted desserts, cheese, assorted olives, hookah and other Middle Eastern delights.
Hoy sabi ko ang paninda ang i-check mo hindi si papa! Wafu sya, coming from me? Hello!
Note: This is not a paid advertisment by Norma’s! This is a kapwa ko mahal ko project/Damayan/Wish-Upon-A-Mega/Eye2Eye lol.
