Chicken Feet!
I am craving for something gelatinous! *Is it jello?* Ngek!
Aside from A day old chick, Chicken ass, Isaw, Balunbalunan, Dugo, Helmet [chicken head it is.] et al my most favorite part of the chicken is the feet! *YUM* ~~~Drools~~~
I feel like going to Chinatown this weekend… And have all the chicken feet I could eat - ahhh blissful.
New York: Food Trip
While in New York two Sunday’s ago, took advantage and went to eat mass and greasy produced foodsss in Jollibee, hehehe - I ordered yumburger for dine in and took spaghetti and palabok with chicken joy to go. *Kakainin sa byahe?* I wasn’t too happy not so langhap sarap noh. Pucha the veggies in my so called yumberger is so soggy pootah parang nalabsak sa byahe from Pinas hahaha… Kairita! Tapos-tapos-tapos wala pang maupuan as in ang liit ng espasyo ha! Talaga namang inalat na food ko sa tray bago pa ako makakuha ng upuan.
The spaghetti was fine para akong umatend ng childrens party sa kapitbahay bwahaha *Tamis anghang! With all that hotdog pieces…* The serving was big compared sa serving sa Pinas! Oha na adapt na ang American standard!
I noticed something, one of the crew na si Manong eh kinukuha ang tray sa customers kapag itatapon na ang basura sa trash - and he throws it himself, parang sa Pinas talaga hehehe nasa restaurant talaga - (papa, meme, uu bwahaha) uupo ka kakain ka at sabay larga, wa na pakels sa mga pinagbalahuraan mo.
After yumburger comes dessert! Ekkkkkkk if you do desserts in Jollibee you have an eating disorder!!! Ugh - Who eats dessert in Jollibee?
Pinas: Street Food (Part 2)
Can somebody tell me, how come I don’t see much of Mamang Sorbeto in the streets as much as much as before na pahara-hara??? I went all to Luneta, just to have durty ice cream ugh! Dirty ice cream is made with local fruits / ingredients. It’s common flavors are Cheese, Langka, Chocolate *that is Filipino chocolate ha!*, Ube, Mango and Avocado. [I am quite serprice that Mamang sorbetero has cookies and cream flavah nah!] *Ibig bang sabihin nyan, eh talagang ganyan na kaunlad ang Pilipinas?* Hahahaha…
Luneta Park, Manila - June 7, 2009
I was craving for this durty ice cream for the longest time ugh! You guys just don’t have any idea! I was supposed to have my ice cream in a bun, but then am still feeling full from my Tinola lunch.
Carriedo, Quiapo - June 7, 2009
Samalamig is a beverage that is sweet and is serve cold. *Awwww, sarapppp.* As the name suggests, it is used to refresh and nourish everyone’s thirst, especially during Summer season. I saw this beverage sold in every corner in Manila. Other stands have Sago Gulaman, Sago Gulaman in Pink [Bakla? LOL!] Buko and Melon. (But yours trulily did not take her chance! Kahit na I feel so tarstey…) Takot ako eh, the next morning pa naman ang flight ko pabalik! Eh baka hmmm alam nyo na! HAHAH!!!
Intramuros, Manila - June 7, 2009
Nilupak is a mashed (Kamoteng Kahoy or Cassava and sometime Bananas are being used too!) I prefer Kamoteng Kahoy over Banana.
I am fixated with the purple and white Nilupak I dunno lol… Best eaten when it’s still warm and serve with Star margarine *YUMI!*
25 yeah but, no but!
Like what I have planned, I cooked for my friends, last Saturday - Yes it was my birthday. Nothing fancy! Just a typical ihaw-ihaw… I was tired really, but I was happy too see them all and spend time with them last Saturday! *Tangina ang plastic ko talaga! Parang Orocan-can ang plastic na walastic hehehe…*
I started preparing around 4ish [Namalengke pa po ako!] It took me like an hour to take off this freakin’ oysters from it’s shell!
[I like ceviche! Maarte kasi ako! Pwede namang kilawin lang, ceviche pa bwahahaha!!!] These oysters are like gold kasi it really took my time noh! Tangina sa pwet pala tinitira yon - Excuse my Fraincais! But Young does not know that, not until last Saturday when I called my friend Gil and asked him - *Pare paano ba magbukas ng talaba? Bukasan mo sa pwet - he said! Ah ganun ba? Bwhehehe* Eh asan ba ang pwet dito????????????? Yong may hinge sabi nya! Ahhh okay *Sabay kamot ng ulo.* After that syet it was like A-B-C! GrrrrRrrrrr!
A match made in heaven
This wine perfectly compliments the chocolate, hehehe kala mo afionado kung magsalita no? Bwahaha
Thanks SPEAK for the sweet wine and chocolates and also for taking the time to take this image with me mwah. Ang sweet mo pala! Kung babae ka lang? Hmmm pinatulan na kita Hehehe… ROTFL, but then again, may jowa ka kaya better luck next time! *Chos* (Sana nagdala ka din ng bulaklak yong naka corona - diba? Para perfect match made in heaven talaga! Hehehe…)
Taho
Is made of fresh soft tofu, and topped with tapioca and brown sugar syrup (sago at arnibal). It is usually peddled in the morning and mamang magtataho usually shouts the word tahooo.
I bought this Taho at Heung Fa Chun in Philadelphia’s Chinatown in Arch Street.
I made my own tapioca pearls and brown syrup though… [I don't like what they put in it. It's like ginger syrup.]
I bought 3 pints lols. Shhhhsshh walang gyera no. I gave 1 pint to the Cheong household and 1 to Michelle and the rest yong isang pint? Inubos ko! Hehehe.
Heung Fa Chun is owned and operated by a Singaporean (I think) couple. Aside from taho they also sell other kinds of sweets. Like mung bean with taro, ma-chang, rice cakes, soya drink - well in fact they do sell pancit and congee here and it is very cheap, compared to the other stores. By the way, they do call taho, dofu - but since the couple has a few Filipino customers they do know it is also called taho with sago, well just in case you might be in Arch Street no.
Bibingka and Puto Bumbong
Last New Year’s eve we was on the “A-list invite” held at Robert’s mansion [It was potluck] and I decided to bring puto bumbong and bibingka I figured out that no one’s bringing any dessert aside from America’s Top Monay good ol’ cake ng ina nya.
Pramis nag-ala Martha Stewart/Julia Childs ako heheheh… We was a little late dahil nag-kayod pa ako ng niyog at kung ano ano pa *echos*
Here’s the uncooked bibingka and puto bumbongbong topped with cheese [Velveeta] and salted egg this is before I baked em’
Here’s the mix for the puto bumbong…
Roll each of em’ them like this… *Dapat pare-parehog sukat! Laki at taba.* para walang tampuhan lols. Then you can put them in a saucepan with water o diba parang palitaw!
Here’s the cooked version *O diba, parang talagang Julia Child… Kakapasok pa lang sa oven - paglabas luto na? Hahahaha ibang klaseng powers no?*
Double Choclit
I may not be a winner in some Las Vegas, Atlantic City Casinos, Alameda Casinos, Reno Casinos, Indian Casinos in So Cal isama na din natin ang Casino Filipino sa Tagaytay at sa Menila hehehe… *Di man din ako WINNER sa pinagdadaan ko ngayon sa buhay ko, because of some people giving me a hard hard hard hard on? EKKKKKKKKKKK time lang and chorvaloo!*
[Thank gawd, I am not a gun owner lols. But instead hehehe ipinagpasa demonyo ko na lang sya bwehehehe...] I am sure Karma’s just one step away from this persons back door apartment… Bwahahah back door?… Hanep, cause there’s no front door kaya, just at the back! Ekkkk full of? Nutella? Ikkkk ikkkkk ikkkk sosyal Nutella pa lols… (EXCUSE ME!!!~~~ Lily’s it is in my humble opinion.
But this waffle and hot choclit sure is a winner!!! *I love eating chocolates in times of stress at kung ano-ano pang anik de chorvalais* After indulging I did sure feel great, just like wonder woman with her magic lasso.
So if you are feeling anxious? stressed? mad? want to kill somebody? Ekkk no dont kill - JUST EAT Choclit! It’s worth it!
Cravings: Taho
For days now, I have been really craving for a Taho with brown sugar syrup. Ugh. It’s just too cold to go out and get it. (I am in a hibernating mode as of now lol. Just too cold *bRrrrr* outside.)
This is where I usually buy my Taho. But their Taho is not serve with brown sugar syrup instead it’s ginger. I buy my Taho here and make my own arnibal lol, Yeah!
Taho is made out of fresh soft silken tofu and is processed to a consistency that is very similar to a custard. Brown sugar syrup called arnibal and Sago [Pearls] are added onto it. *Drooling*
I know in the Philippines that they have made out different flavors of Taho. (Syet, parang Hopia at Tikoy lol iba-ibang flavor!) I know that in Baguio they have the Strawberry Taho instead of arnibal they put Strawberry syrup and some chunks of Strawberry awww… [I saw that on heyokity.com while ago...]
Cravings: Forture Cookie!
A fortune cookie is a crisp cookie made from flour, sugar, vanilla, and oil with a “fortune” is wrapped inside. it. A “fortune” is a piece of paper with words of faux wisdom or vague prophecy. (I remember, sometime ago - while having dinner with my friends in Chinatown, my fortune says — Your gonna have a new t-shirt! Now what kind of a fortune is that?) Pootah, is that a fortune or huwat? Magagastosan pa pala ako bukod sa kinaing mga Chinese food dahil bibili ako ng t-shirt for myself! Arggggg! LOLS…
The only time I can get my hands on a fortune cookie is when I eat at some taktaktak MSG Chinese restaurant foods smothered with melamine - just like the infamous tainted milk from China POWE! Hehehe… I don’t like eating my fortune cookie by itself and or accompanied with some courtesy slices of oranges from the restaurant. For me it is best eaten with a Choclit ice cream! *YUM*
